浙江工业大学经济学院,其前身为1980年成立的工业管理系。学院现拥有应用经济学博士后流动站,应用经济学一级学科博士学位授权点,“国际贸易与金融”中英合作办学硕士学位教育项目,金融和国际商务两个专业学位硕士点项目,应用经济学学科为浙江省一流学科(A类)。学院两个本科专业均入选教育部“双万”计划、国家级一流本科专业建设点;同时“国际经济与贸易”为教育部高等学校特色专业建设点、“十三五”浙江省优势专业。学院拥有浙江省级重点创新团队(文化创新类)1个、浙江省高等学校省级教学团队1个、浙江省省级人才培养模式创新实验区1个、省部共建“国际经济与贸易特色优势学科实验室”1个、国家级一流本科课程1门、浙江省一流本科课程4门、教育部来华留学英语授课品牌课程2门。

    近6年新增国家社会科学基金重大招标项目3项、国家社会科学基金重点项目2项,国家自然科学基金、国家社会科学基金项目38项,省部级项目61项;获教育部科研优秀成果奖1项,省哲学社会科学优秀成果奖1项,省级科研、教学成果奖5项;28份研究报告获省委省政府领导批示。现有教职工81人,其中专任教师60人,正高级职称教师13人,副高级职称教师20人,具有博士学位的教师54人。拥有国家“万人计划”领军人才1人、国家级教学名师1人、全国优秀教师1人、全国教书育人楷模1人、全国“百千万人才工程”第三层次1人、全国会计领军(高端)人才1人、教育部“长江学者奖励计划”特聘教授2人、浙江省特级专家1人、省“151人才工程”重点资助人员2人、省“151人才工程”第二层次3人,其他省级人才10人。截至2020年年底,有国际经济与贸易、金融学专业普通全日制本科学生630余人;在读硕士研究生88人、博士研究生37人;留学生近200人。

学院超过80%学生参与课外科技竞赛活动,近5年共获得国家级科技竞赛奖10项,省级科技竞赛奖80余项,共斩获第十六届“挑战杯”全国大学生课外学术科技作品竞赛一等奖,第十二届“挑战杯”大学生创业计划竞赛全国金奖,第十二届中国大学生服务外包创新创业大赛全国一等奖等荣誉。

     学院积极开展对外交流与合作,先后与瑞典乌普萨拉大学、美国威斯康辛大学、肯塔基大学、密苏里州立大学、澳大利亚西澳大学、西班牙ESIC商学院、爱尔兰沃特福德理工学院、法国雷恩商学院、日本早稻田大学、日本足利工业大学等多所国外高校开展了人才培养和科学研究等多方位合作。 

    The predecessor of the School of Economics of Zhejiang University of Technology is the Department of Industrial Management established in 1980.In 2019, the original School of Economic and Trade Management was divided into School of Economics and School of Management. The School currently has a postdoctoral mobile station in applied economics , a doctoral degree programme for first-class discipline of applied economics, two professional master's degree programme including international business and finance, and a Sino-UK joint education master degree programme of International Trade and Finance. The discipline of applied economics is a first-class discipline (Class A) in Zhejiang Province. The two undergraduate majors, that is, International Economics and Trade, and Finance, have both been selected for the Double Ten Thousand Plan of the Ministry of Education and included in the national first-class undergraduate major construction site. At the same time,  the  discipline of International Economy and Trade is a characteristic major construction point of higher education institutions under the Ministry of Education, and a advantageous major in Zhejiang Province during the 13th Five Year Plan.

    The School has 1 provincial-level key innovation team (cultural innovation category), 1 provincial-level teaching team for higher education institutions in Zhejiang Province, 1 provincial-level talent cultivation model innovation experimental zone in Zhejiang Province, 1 International Economy and Trade Characteristic Advantage Discipline Laboratory jointly built by the provincial and ministerial departments, 1 national first-class undergraduate course, 9 first-class undergraduate courses in Zhejiang Province, and 2 branded courses taught by the Ministry of Education in English for studying abroad in China.

    In recent years, the college has added 3 major bidding projects of the National Social Science Foundation, 3 key projects of the National Social Science Foundation, 53 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Social Science Foundation, and 78 provincial and ministerial level projects; Received 1 Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award from the Ministry of Education, 3 Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Awards, and 6 Provincial Scientific Research and Teaching Achievement Awards; 35 research reports have been approved by leaders of the provincial party committee and government.

    Currently, the School has 85 faculty members, including 62 full-time teachers, 12 teachers with senior professional titles, 24 teachers with deputy senior professional titles, and 60 teachers with doctoral degrees. We have 1 leading talent in the national Ten Thousand Talents Plan, 1 national level teaching master, 1 national excellent teacher, 1 national model for teaching and education, 1 third level person in the national Hundred and Ten Thousand Talents Project, 1 national accounting leading (high-end) talent, 1 special level expert in Zhejiang Province, 1 model for teaching and education in Zhejiang Province, 2 key funded personnel in the provincial 151 Talent Project, and 3 second level people in the provincial 151 Talent Project.
